I will be updating pictures during the last two weeks of December with the student's work.
Also, remember that as a part of the Spanish curriculum, we learn about traditions, customs and holidays that take place in Spanish speaking countries. I always tell my students to remember that we might not always agree how other people celebrate certain days, but that we always have to learn and be respectful of their traditions and celebrations.

It is that time of the year when we learn about "El Día de Los Muertos / The Day of the Dead". It is always student's favorite Spanish speaking country's holiday.
Each Grade is learning about the traditions that are part of this special celebration. Also, they will do different type of art craft connected with "El Día de Los Muertos" We used some Kagan structures (Mix-Pair-Share) to practice greetings and personal information. Collaborative learning were students have to create as a group a dialogue in Spanish. 1st Grade learning about school supplies through flashcards made by themselves.
Kindergarten: Learning and practicing with numbers 1-10.
1st Grade: We are learning about school supplies. 2nd Grade: We finished our review of shapes and colors, and we are starting our lesson about "The school". 3rd-4th and 5th Grade: Vocabulary about greetings, the calendar and how to ask and introduce themselves. The level of difficulty depends on the grade. 2nd Grade students played a game where they have to read the Spanish word from "puzzle card". They had to find the missing piece through asking other classmates or through telling them the Spanish word in their card.
5th Grade finished their script for the Restaurant project.
4th Grade worked in their unit about Spain. 3rd Grade learned about Spain and how to use www.languagenut.com 2nd Grade learned about body parts and they wrote 5 sentences describing a monster. 1st Grade learned 8 body parts using a monster created by them. They also review numbers 1-30. Kindergarten learned about farm animals, body parts and review of numbers 1-20. |
