Physical Education is off to a great start this year! Hopefully your child came home and gave you a high five if you exercise! Leading up to this high five we had a lesson on fitness, did our own cross-training/fun workout, and talked about a goal of getting exercise almost everyday! The kids came up with suggestions of helping mom and dad get active with family walks, bike rides, playing in the yard, and hikes. Some of them even said they could get their exercise by helping with the yard work!
This week your students have all been treated to a wonderful lesson compliments of Master Cho's Tae Kwan Do Studio. They have done a fabulous job with the students building confidence and encouraging focus and respect. All students have learned and will recognize the following cues and I think they will helpful for us as a school community.
Focus: Eye focus-eyes on the speaker...say "eye focus" Body focus-sitting alert and erect...say "body focus" Brain focus-thinking about what you are hearing/learning...say "brain focus" *Once you say "____focus", have the kids repeat after you..."_____ focus". They also covered RESPECT and they kids should have an awareness of respecting themselves, others, and the rules. Buddy Field Day was...again, an incredible success! We never stop moving in the Gym!
